Culture and language constitute the identity of each person. As a consequence, the right to make part of a cultural community and to participate to its cultural life, makes part of those human rights which are denominated cultural rights. As language is one of the main expressions of culture, which represents the cultural identity and heritage of a community, linguistic rights can be considered a category included in the above-mentioned category of cultural rights. Therefore, a representation made up of three concentric circles takes shape. The most external circle coincides with human rights and the second to cultural rights, inside of which we can find the smallest circle of linguistic rights.
